Kyrah (Kerry Washington) and Issac (Omar Sy) are a young couple with a small son named Ky (Jahleel Kamara). They have fled their jobs working for Shadow Force, which is an international special military task force. The head of Shadow Force, Jack Cinder (Mark Strong), organizes a hunt to compel their return. Their auntie (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) reveals knowledge of possible locations, making it difficult to flee. Issac leads Kyrah and Ky into a house in the woods. Jack and his team of strong men follow in a boat, eventually landing on an island which is also the home of Jack.

We enjoy excellent actors. They are always on the run which makes it a road movie, taking us through beautiful environments, representing e.g., Careyes, Mexico, Bogotá, Colombia, and various Spanish islands. Three of the twelve songs are by Lionel Ritchie. Ky loves Lionel Ritchie and even sings one of his songs for us. These positive parts of the film: actors, photography, and music, sadly cannot alone fulfill our expectations. Here we have ninety-four minutes of men and women physically fighting when not shooting their guns, plus two times kissing. As we recently learned in a similar film called Rust, it actually is possible to combine these techniques into an interesting plot. Sadly, it did not work here. Filmed in Colombia. (Becky Tan)
